Harold Clayton Lloyd born April 20 acted and produced in silent movies at the same time as his comtemporaries Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Unlike these two, his screen character was more true-to-life, a love-lorn 'everyman' in horn-rimmed glasses whose escapades involved dare-devil stunts, most of which were performed by Harold Lloyd himself.
